Christmas Comes Early For The Large One
Chief White Eagle lands Wednesday at Deercrest #7

Big Boy, aka Big Roy, the Large One, Commissioner, took a December sleigh ride through the windy wintry hills of Templegusta Wednesday this week and got an early Christmas gift from the golf gods when he laced a 5-iron (a 5-iron?) from the 153-yard white tees into the hole on the par-3 #7 on the Deercrest front-side.

Witnessed by partners Digger, Eazy, and KA, the shot reportedly had the normal Big Boy wind-boring and fading "trajectomy," and landed short and 15-feet left of the flag situated at a back left pin placement, according to astonished on-lookers.  The ball then bounded past the hole (as one would expect from semi-bladed 5-iron) and up the slope to the back of the green and proceeded to wind its way back down the hill toward the cup.

"There must have been 10,000 of those little helicopters, twigs and leaves on the green between his ball and the hole," Eazy said.  "And that ball hit every one of 'em on its way back to the hole.  It just kept wobbling and weebling and trinkling all the way back at the hole, left and right and left.  I looked at Digger and said he's gonna make a damn hole-in-one."

Partner KA for the first 6-holes of the 6-6-6 match said he carried Big Boy to a +5 win for the first six holes and "then he finally does something to help his new partner out on 7.  It must've taken his ball 15 or 20 seconds of ground time getting back to the hole," KA said.

"It had to be one of the longest holes-in-one in history in terms of the time it took on the ground to get there," Eazy added.  "I told him it was a great shot but it was too bad it was just another eagle."

By GolfPrick rule #6A, Section 4, "no hole-in-one from any tee other than the blue or championship tee shall be deemed as such.  It shall only be counted as an "eagle."  Big Boy joined Digger, Eazy, and Little Boy as GolfPricks who have reached the hole on #7 in one shot.

Congratulations, Big Boy, and Merry Christmas!
